Exploring LEGOLAND Florida: Blocks, fun, and family adventures

Central Florida is packed with entertainment options and, of course, some amazing theme parks. Today, with you, I’ll be exploring LEGOLAND Florida, sharing all the details you need to plan your next trip near Orlando. This park is super special—perfect for kids between 2 and 12 years old—but honestly, as an adult visiting with my kids, I had a fantastic time too. It’s located in Winter Haven, just 40 minutes from where I live and less than an hour from Walt Disney World, making it a perfect family getaway. [Click here for the location on Google Maps]

What is LEGOLAND Florida?

LEGOLAND Florida is a complex that includes:

• LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park (the main theme park)

• LEGOLAND Water Park

• Peppa Pig Theme Park (great for the little ones)

• LEGOLAND Hotel, Pirate Island Hotel, and LEGOLAND Beach Retreat (themed lodging options)

My first tip is to buy your tickets ahead of time. Not only does this save you waiting, but you can often find great deals. I took advantage of a promo valid until August and got four tickets for less than half the regular price. So keep an eye on LEGOLAND’s official website and social media for those limited-time offers.

Getting to LEGOLAND is pretty easy, especially if you’re driving. The park is well signed, and parking is convenient, with preferred spots available that are even shaded by solar panels. We went in summer, and while it was pretty hot, there are plenty of shaded areas to rest and keep enjoying without melting.

The park is divided into several themed areas that my kids absolutely loved. For example, LEGO Kingdoms has a gentle roller coaster and medieval castles. LEGO City lets kids drive little LEGO cars. MINILAND USA is like a museum made of millions of LEGO pieces recreating famous cities with incredible detail. My personal favorite was LEGO NINJAGO World, where you get to participate in a super fun 4D experience.

Accessibility and Additional Services

LEGOLAND is designed to be accessible for everyone, offering stroller, wheelchair, and electric scooter rentals. There are nursing rooms and family lounges, parking for guests with reduced mobility, and kid ID bracelets for safety.

If you want to make your visit extra special, LEGOLAND has some fantastic themed hotels like the Pirate Island Hotel, full of fun details and activities for kids. We didn’t stay overnight, but I’m already planning a trip to experience that.

When to Visit

The low season is January, February, and September. Try to avoid school holidays if you want fewer crowds. Also, check the weather since outdoor attractions can be affected by rain. Remember, Florida’s hurricane season runs from June to November with frequent afternoon showers.

We visited on a Sunday at the end of July, right in the middle of summer with high temperatures. Luckily, the day was perfect—no rain, clear skies, and a nice breeze.

Extra Tips:

  • Start your day with the most popular rides like The Dragon, NINJAGO The Ride, or Coastersaurus, as they get busy quickly. Plan breaks throughout the day, especially with little kids. Take time to cool off in ice cream shops or air-conditioned quick-service restaurants to recharge and keep spirits high.
  • Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. Bringing a stroller for the little ones can make a big difference, especially by the end of the day.
  • Download the official LEGOLAND app—it’s essential to know where attractions are, wait times, and show schedules. And if possible, get there early to make the most of your visit and avoid crowds.
  • Grab the refillable drink cup once you arrive. It’s a lifesaver on hot days and doubles as a fun souvenir.
  • Food options range from tasty burgers and pizzas to kid-friendly, vegetarian, and gluten-free menus, so no worries if anyone has dietary needs.

You can bring non-alcoholic drinks and snacks into the park, which is a great way to save money. Like many Florida attractions, there’s metal detection and security checks at the entrance. No firearms, knives, or sharp objects allowed, and glass containers or anything that could pose a risk should be left at home. Following these rules helps keep everyone safe.

My first visit to LEGOLAND Florida was unforgettable—full of wonder, excitement, laughter, and magical moments. From the second I walked through the entrance and saw the giant LEGO sculptures, I knew it would be a special day. Every corner is bursting with creativity, color, and fun, and from the first ride to the last roller coaster, I felt relaxed and happy all day long.

LEGOLAND is so much more than just a theme park—it’s a place where families reconnect, kids let their imaginations run wild, and adults rediscover the joy of carefree play. If you’re planning your first visit, get ready for a day full of entertainment, interactive adventures, and memories you’ll want to relive again and again.

Though I visit all the Walt Disney World parks often, spending a day at LEGOLAND was a refreshing and unique experience. Having worked for years in the largest entertainment company in the world, I’m used to high standards of quality and service. So it was a pleasant surprise to find excellent customer service at LEGOLAND—friendly staff, spotless public areas (including bathrooms), good overall service, and tasty food options.

Exploring LEGOLAND Florida

I recommend this park even if you don’t have kids. Although LEGOLAND is smaller than other Florida theme parks, I wouldn’t hesitate to spend several days exploring it fully and enjoying everything its complex has to offer. I’m already planning our next stay at one of their themed hotels, which seem like a magical extension of the park experience.

Everything I’ve shared here is just a glimpse of what LEGOLAND Florida offers. There are many more attractions and activities I haven’t mentioned but are definitely worth discovering. I’d rather you experience the excitement firsthand and feel the awe I felt. So don’t wait any longer—start planning your visit and get ready to build memories that will last a lifetime.

I hope this mini guide helps you, and that you enjoy your LEGOLAND adventure!
