What to do in Destin?

Destin is a city in Florida that is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, in the area known as the ‘Florida Panhandle’ and offers stunning beaches. It is a beautiful colorful beach town with fun places to visit… and I insist, I think the beaches will leave you breathless.

I think Crab Island is one of the beaches that I have seen the most on social media (Florida related), I guess it is difficult not to share the beauty of the place.

The best way to get there and enjoy the atmosphere is by boat. It is not by the coast where you can arrive by car and park, to get there you need to rent a boat or pontoon, take a ‘Tiki Tour’ which is a floating tiki bar with a captain and you only have to bring whatever you are going to drink or eat. Another option is to tour the area in a kayak or jet ski. Many of those options can be found at Destin Harbor Boardwalk.

If you prefer to drive to a nice beach, Henderson Beach State Park is a good option since the area has restrooms, showers and a good parking space. It is only $6 per vehicle to enter since it is a state park.

My next spot is not in Destin, but in less than 30min you can go Village of Baytowne Wharf. There you will find plenty of activities for the whole family. The place is a resort but anyone can visit as they have several restaurants, bars and even a nightclub. Also for the little ones or teenagers there is the Baytowne Adventure Zone that has zip lines, high ropes walks, a carousel, climbing towers, mini golf and more. To find out what events are offered at the time of your visit, check out their web site.

The Destin Harbor Boardwalk has several restaurants and shops with an incredible view. Here, as I mentioned before, you can rent boats, jet skis and even fun boats like this.

Not more than 1 hour away, you can visit Panama City or Pensacola Beach. With more beaches and interesting places like the Lighthouse in Pensacola where you climb the steps all the way up and enjoy the view from the top, or SkyWheel Panama City Beach also to enjoy the view from the top on a wheel.
