I confess that I’m not a big fan of water parks, but this Universal park is awesome! Super fun for the whole family with lots of activities and attractions.
Volcano Bay is Universal’s 3rd park in Orlando. You can even see it from the highway (I4) if you drive through the area.
Upon arrival, you park in the same parking lot for the entire Universal Orlando Resort, but you will see signs telling you which way to go. If you stay at one of Universal’s resorts, you can use their transportation to the park. If you stay in another hotel, always ask about the transportation they offer.
There were 2 attractions that I loved that we had to do it several times. The Water Coaster: Krakatau we were able to ride it 2 times (since it was a Wednesday just after the lockdown and everything was starting to open, everything was empty) and TeAwa The Fearless River which is kind of a ‘lazy river’ but not slow at all since you need to wear a life jacket because of how fast you can float down the entire river. For the last one, I have no idea how many laps we did and if I return I think I would stay there all day.
You could spend a full day in the park. Rent a locker to leave all of your belongings or if you go with a group it may be better to rent a ‘cabin’ for more comfort (especially if you go with children). You can also rent loungers on the sand and just relax in the area.
I recommend you to wear water shoes (like this one, for example) to be able to walk calmly throughout the park since there are attractions that you cannot go with sandals/flip flops although you also have spaces to leave your accessories while you go up to the attraction.
Here is a video from a blog I used to have about Disney World and Universal parks, with more details about the park and information. The blog does not exist anymore but I still have the videos 🙂 — Click CC for subtitles in English —
