If you are in the Tampa Bay area (St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa…) don’t hesitate to head to Madeira Beach where you will find John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk.

The place is super nice. I love it. My family loves it and every time friends visit I try to take them there… and they love it!

It has several restaurants and shops. Not only that, from there you can also rent a water boat or take a boat ride.

If you arrive by car, you can park at several points including a large parking lot. From there walk along the ‘boardwalk’, a walk in front of the canal where most of the restaurants are located. I love the view from there.

Among the restaurants, the one I usually visit is Sculley’s Restaurant since 1999 when I moved to Florida. So yes, it has never disappointed me. But you have many to choose from, including famous chains: Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (based on the movie Forrest Gump) and Hooters.

Nearby there are several hotels and a beautiful beach. It is located about 40 minutes from downtown Tampa, 2 hours from Orlando and about 4 hours by car from Miami. Remember that there is a lot to do and see in the Tampa Bay area, so spending an entire weekend in this area is not a bad idea.
