Sarasota is a beautiful city on the west coast of Florida. It is impossible not to visit this area and enjoy the charming beaches, white sand, clear waters and non-wavy or very gentle waves that relax you a lot. Excellent for a relaxing vacation!
On the last visit, our main goal was to visit a tiki bar that we wanted to see and it turns out that this tiki is by the hotel, somewhat retro style hotel, that we decided to stay: Golden Host Resort.
As of summer 2021 the place was still under renovations, but this did not make the stay a bad experience.
It has a very large pool with areas to relax under the sun. Staff was great and they helped us with any questions we had.
I loved the room! It makes you feel in the 50s with that decoration and details like the small refrigerator and microwave. Very comfortable too.
The exterior was under renovation so obviously a bit unorganized, dirt and not a very good view.
The hotel is not by the beach, although it is about a 15 minute drive to Lido Beach which is beautiful. In about 5 minutes you can go to “The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art” which I found very interesting to visit especially “Ca ‘d’Zan” which it is incredible. Perfect place for beautiful photos.
So although it is not directly on the beach, it is close to many tourist spots and has a tiki bar that I recommend you visit: Bahi Hut.
