5 things to do in Kissimmee

If you are traveling for a vacation (thinking just on Disney or Universal parks), or if you are in Central Florida for work, it is always good to have different options for fun things and places to visit. For this reason, on this post, I give you 5 options to get to know and explore around Kissimmee (or very close by), besides the theme parks.

Helicopter or balloon ride

For $175 in a balloon or from $27 in a helicopter (various packages/times), you can get a completely different view of Orlando and its surroundings. An incredible experience that you can enjoy alone, with your partner or in a group. The balloon ride lasts 1 hour and during the tour you will be able to see the parks from the sky, other balloons and a beautiful orange grove. By helicopter it varies depending on the package you prefer, from the simplest or even at night to enjoy the fireworks of the parks from above. You can find these tours at various points.

Eat different

If you are tired of seeing Mc Donald’s and Wendy’s on every corner, or eating at the ‘all you can eat’, the solution is to take a tour of the food trucks that operate in the city… Imagine a parking lot full of trucks with different gastronomic options from all over the world! Although, obviously for being trucks you can find it all over Central Florida: Lake Mary, Deland, Winter Garden and of course in Kissimmee at this place that is full of food trucks from all over the world: https://www.worldfoodtrucks.com/

Fishing

Central Florida has beautiful green spaces, and among them, rivers, lakes and ponds with good fishing. If you are one of those who likes nature and sport fishing, then on your next visit you can spend an entire afternoon trying your luck. In the city there are several specialized guides. Find the one that best suits you here: https://www.tripadvisor.co/Attractions-g34352-Activities-c61-t217-Kissimmee_Florida.html

To the farm!

Green Meadows Farm is a farm that allows children and adults to interact and pet animals. Every month they have fun events like the Pumpkin Festival or the Halloween celebration in October. More info at: http://www.greenmeadowsfarm.com/

Another very nice place to visit, see some animals and even feed them, get on a big 4X4 truck and go around the area where you can see cows (and throw some oranges at them) and even alligators, is at Show Case of Citrus: https:/ /showcaseofcitrus.com/. You can also buy some souvenirs and even delicious local honey, refresh yourself with a drink and enjoy the fun atmosphere for the whole family. (main photo)

Fun Spot + Old Town

Here you can find many activities. Walk among the shops of Old Town where you can also visit a haunted house and other fun activities, including a classic car show. Right next door is Fun Spot with more attractions for the whole family, with a roller coaster, go karts and other rides.

This is right across from Food Trucks of the World (listed as option #2), so you could spend a full day in this area.
