The cobblestone streets of St. Augustine, steeped in history, are transformed during the Christmas season into a charming, light-filled setting. If you’re planning a visit during December, here’s everything you need to know about St. Augustine for the Holidays.
We begin our tour in the “St. Augustine and St. Johns County Visitor Information Center” If it is open during your visit, don’t miss the opportunity to explore it inside. Then we continue, like any other day in town, towards “Old City Gates” to begin the stroll around the famous St. George street.
The famous St. George Street is where you will find most of the shops, restaurants and bars, and during this time beautiful Christmas decorations in some of the businesses. We continue until the Plaza de la Constitución which is decorated to the max and we took a walk through the City Hall, all lit up beautifully.
After a tour of the Plaza de la Constitución and nearby streets, we went to the bay side (Matanza River) to enjoy all the buildings and houses along A1A from the Bridge of Lions to the Castillo de San Marco. Gorgeous!
Below I tell you in more detail what you can’t miss when visiting St. Augustine for the Holidays:
