Trying to get to know more areas near Orlando, and thanks to a bike ride starting in Lake Minneola, I reached the downtown area of Winter Garden. Beautiful! A place that I truly recommend when visiting Central Florida.
So another day I decided to drive to that area, located few minutes away from Walt Disney World Resort, to know more about it.
By bicycle we arrived thanks to the West Orange Trail, a bike trail (which you can also rent a bike in several places along the way), go for a walk or jog or even skating. Perfect for beginners (or anyone who wants to enjoy) already because it is easy: flat and on concrete. By car, we take 429 (you can take it near Disney World or from 192) or West Colonial Dr (also known as US50) until we reach Main Street in Winter Garden Downtown Historic District.
It is a small city but very nice to see while in Central Florida.
We just walked Main Street. During the Saturday we visit, the 3rd of the month, we found a local market with a variety of food and many things handmade by locals. They also do festivals with classic cars all over the street.
There are many restaurants in the area so it gets a bit difficult to decide one for lunch or dinner.
After walking around the Historic Center we visited Newton Park, along Lakeview Ave.
